This is a really great cookie spatula. The end is very flexible so that you can slip it right under your cookies--even in a tight cookie sheet. It has a nice non-slip handle that is slightly soft to the touch, it has a perfect bend in the neck to avoid damaging other cookies on the sheet, and the "Be a Good Cookie" on the front and the website address for Cookies for Kids' Cancer on the back are laser etched on the stainless steel before getting coated with silicone, so it won't be coming off. And best of all, it supports an amazing charity dedicated to helping kids fight cancer. Cookies for Kids' Cancer was founded in 2007 by two OXO employees, Gretchen and Larry Witt, who were inspired by their son Liam's battle with pediatric cancer. The concept originated when Gretchen decided to hold a larger-than-life bake sale to raise money to help fund a pediatric cancer treatment in development. That December, 250 volunteers helped make and sell 96,000 cookies in just three weeks, raising over $400,000. Since then, local bake sales all over the country have helped raised more than $2.5 Million for pediatric cancer research.
Since the beginning, OXO employees have donated their personal time baking cookies and holding bake sales. Through these personal efforts, they have helped raise over $150,000 to support Cookies for Kids' Cancer. This year OXO will donate up to $100,000 in support of this cause so close to their hearts.
