Great product with high quality silicone from the top of the head to the tip of the handle all in one piece. The heads will not come off accidentally. Also food can't get trapped between the head and handle. Love that feature. Head and handle heatable to 500 degrees. They are dishwasher safe and also easily hand washed. Sturdy? - yes and I think they have the perfect flexibility for the job each spatula would be expected to do. The handles are pretty stiff, soft grip and non slip due to the silicone covering. I really like this combination of sizes. Whenever I order products I like to know the dimensions and seldom is it spelled out in detail so I know exactly what I'm getting. Seems like I'm usually hoping for the best until I see the item in person. So here's the deal with these:
Small - Head approximately 1 1/4" Wide X 2 5/8" long, Handle 6' long, Total length 9 1/4".
(Great for scraping small jars and some bottles or when you want just enough condiment to spread on bread)
Medium -Head 2 3/16" wide X 3 1/4" Long, Handle 6 5/8" long, Total length 10".
(Just fits Best Foods Mayonnaise jar which is 2 1/4 opening, perfect for big scoops. Most versatile and useful size.)
Large -Head 2 1/2" wide X 4 1/4" long, Handle 8", Total length 12 1/4".
(Will handle mixing, stirring or scrapping large mixing bowls with dough, potato salad or most any big job.)
Of course all of these silicone spatulas can be used for mixing, stirring or flipping hot dishes while directly on the stove or in the oven. They can be left right in the hot pan while cooking if you want so you don't have to use a spoon holder or dirty a counter. The heat won't melt the head or burn the handle because they are food safe silicone head to toe. There's not much to worry about when it comes to hurting these things. Except maybe sharp objects that could possibly cut the silicone.
Bye the way, one reviewer said they received non-matching colors and were disappointed. I don't blame them for being disappointed but happy to report that this set of spatulas were ordered directly from Amazon and arrived with only one shade of red. Just like the picture.
