I saw these in a magazine gift guide and told my hubby to add them to my Christmas list. He got them and I was so excited when I opened them up. You see, I had to have these measuring spoons because my family loves keys and I've wanted porcelain measuring spoons ever since seeing Giada use them on her Food Network show. The difference is that hers are coated with some shiny glaze and aren't thin and fragile. These, on the other hand, are not coated at all, they are plain porcelain and I'm afraid they would break if I used them. Even the stem part is thin. I would imagine that they would stain easily too. They are white and soak up anything they come in contact with. They are tied together with a white satin ribbon that would have to be removed before washing, for sure. I'm going to keep mine to try to use in some decor, but I would have never asked for them, had I known how fragile they are. If you want them for decor alone, buy them because they are very pretty, but if not, get something else. I hope this helps.
