You might be surprised at how often you need to mix up a small amount of something and do not feel like dragging out a huge mixing appliance. These are perfect when the stick blender or something bigger would be overkill or won't do the job. Dry thoroughly after use and rust won't be a problem. It is stainless steel, but yes, cheaper grades of stainless steel do rust, depending on the grade and alloy type.
